Sturgeon earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Thomas University in 1991 and is a Certified Management Accountant and Certified Public Accountant. He is the President, CEO and owner of The Warren Group, a logistics and industrial services group comprised of six operating companies with locations in New Brunswick and Newfoundland.

St. Thomas University President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. M. Nauman Farooqi noted that Sturgeon has been active in his community, serving on multiple community boards as well as industry, corporate and not-for-profit boards. He has been a board member for the Canadian Trucking Association, the Atlantic Provinces Truckers Association and the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies (AIMS). He has participated in many regional forums on economic development across Atlantic Canada.

“Vaughn is also familiar with our operations having previously served several terms on the Board of Governors and was a member of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Finance Committee. He served on the Advisory Committee guiding the recently completed Capital Campaign for STU,” added Farooqi.

“On behalf of Chancellor Graydon Nicholas and the Board, I want to thank former Chair David Ferguson for his service to our university. Mr. Ferguson was a senior provincial public servant in New Brunswick who served as Clerk of the Executive Council and Secretary to Cabinet after having been Deputy Minister in several departments.”

“Serving on our Board since 2017, David made important contributions to governance, particularly as Chair of the Human Resources Committee, as well as providing valuable input while a member of the Executive Committee and Government Relations Committee,” said Farooqi.
