School of Social Work’s Dr. Marilyn Dupré Receives Prestigious Raoul Léger Memorial Award

Dr. Marilyn Dupré, Director of STU's School of Social Work, is this year's recipient of the Raoul Léger Memorial Award from the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers.
The Raoul Léger Memorial Award is presented yearly to a social worker in New Brunswick who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of the practice of social work and social justice in the province. This award is presented in memory of Raoul Léger, a social worker who devoted his career and gave his life for the advancement of social justice in Guatemala.
"To be recognized by one's colleagues in this way is a wonderful conclusion to a long and rewarding professional career," said Dr. Dupré, who will be retiring from St. Thomas University this year.
This prestigious award recognizes Dr. Dupré's outstanding contributions to the profession of Social Work––throughout both her professional and academic career.
Dr. Dupré has extensive work experience in frontline social work practice, with over 17 years of experience working for the province of New Brunswick in various capacities before serving as STU's Director of the School of Social Work. Her scholarly work has had a nationwide impact, and her leadership skills in both professional and academic communities have earned her a well-deserved reputation within the field of social work.
