BMH 101
Dr. Linda Caissie, Dr. Deborah van den Hoonard and Dr. Amanda Benjamin will speak on "The Meaning of Retirement for Baby Boomer Women" as part of STU's Public Lecture Series.
Women of the baby-boom generation are the first generation of women to have participated in significant numbers in the paid work force since retirement has become institutionalized. Using in-depth interviews with women from New Brunswick, this presentation will explore baby- boomer women’s process of leaving the paid work force, what retirement means to them, and how their lives have changed thus far. The main goal of the presentation is to understand the role of retirement from the perspective of women.
St. Thomas University’s 2024-25 Public Lecture Series is designed to enable STU faculty researchers to be able to present ideas and research results to a wide and diverse audience on issues of broad public interest.
