Research

Dr. Robinson’s research interests focus on ancient and medieval philosophy, especially the interaction between the different Augustinianisms and Aristotelianisms of the 13th century. His recently-completed doctoral dissertation is entitled, “The early 13th-Century Latin-Augustinian reception of the Peripatetic Agent Intellect and the Historical Constitution of the Self” is a study of the influence on Bonaventure of the lesser-known early 13th century thinkers, William of Auvergne, John of La Rochelle, and the author of Book 2 of the Summa Fratris Alexandri.” It focuses on the contributions in epistemology of several understudied figures of the early 13th century. Dr. Robinson is currently working on publications emerging from his dissertation.
