Refuge Canada Tent Travelling Exhibit Visiting STU
The Refuge Canada Tent, a travelling exhibit created by the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 and supported by The Birks Family Foundation, is visiting STU until the end of February.
Located on the first floor of Brian Mulroney Hall, the Refuge Canada Tent is a small, bilingual exhibit designed to resemble a tent and is the same size as a typical shelter used in refugee camps today.
Adapted from the larger exhibition Refuge Canada, the exhibit raises awareness of the complex issues surrounding the history of refugees in Canada. Drawing upon oral histories, archival images, and interactives, this immersive exhibit serves as an introduction to the context of Canada's place in the global refugee crisis. It brings to light the challenges faced by refugees in Canada.
