Enactus STU Earns Recognition for Youth Empowerment Initiative

Enactus STU made an impact at the 2024-2025 Atlantic Canada Regional Exposition, earning Second Runner-Up in the Desjardins Youth Empowerment Challenge for their work on Project Spark — an initiative that focuses on entrepreneurship and financial literacy. The team was awarded $500 to support the future growth and impact of the project.
“Seeing our hard work pay off was incredible,” said second-year STUdent Suzanne Shah.
“Competing alongside such inspiring teams pushed us to be our best, and I’m grateful for our team’s dedication as well as the support of our mentors."
The Project Spark team at Enactus STU was recognized for its innovative use of entrepreneurial action to improve the livelihood of youth in an economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable way.
Project Spring Up, which competed in the Canadian Tire Environmental Sustainability Challenge, was led entirely by first-year students.
Fen Garzon-Habacon described the competition as an unforgettable learning experience.
“We learned so much about leadership, teamwork, and public speaking. The connections we made and the skills we developed will stay with us for years to come,” he said.
