Alumna Taylor Armstrong, BA’20, returns to STU as Student Support Navigator
Taylor Armstrong, BA’20, has always loved working with people and cherished her time within STU’s close-knit community as a STUdent. Upon starting her role as Student Support Navigator, she was excited to foster the same sense of community for current and incoming students.
In her role, Armstrong receives and welcomes students in need of assistance. She identifies the type of service or help they require and either provides the appropriate support or connects the student with the appropriate resources.
Cory Flynn, Acting Director of Student Services, emphasized the importance of Armstrong's role in supporting student success.
“This position is vital in ensuring that our students, in their time of need, are met with a welcoming presence, and can easily access any supports they require,” said Flynn.
“Sometimes students can feel unsure about where to seek information and resources, which may make them hesitant to reach out," said Armstrong.
And that's where her role comes in.
“Any fathomable question that might pop into a student's mind— it's my job to help them find the answer or introduce them to somebody else on campus who can better assist them,” she said.
“This is a supportive environment with someone always here to help you, and I would love to be one of those friendly faces.”
