The entire STU community is invited and encouraged to take in all the events and opportunities that will take place during International Education Week at STU!  

 

Meet international students, find out more about international opportunities, learn about and experience new cultures, and more.  

 

Events have been organized by STU’s International Office, International Students’ Association, Students’ Union, and Office of Experiential Learning and Career Development.

Wednesday, November 15 

 

Changing of the Wall of Flags Ceremony 

 

11:30am to 12:30pm 

Sir James Dunn Hall Cafeteria 

 

Each year, the Wall of Flags in Sir James Dunn Hall is updated to reflect the countries of our current international students. It is an important event where new and returning international students—and all the contributions they make to our diverse campus—are celebrated!  

 

Global Connections Challenge 

 

4:00 pm to 5:30 pm   

Sir James Dunn Hall Cafeteria   

 

For International Education Week, join STUSU and STUISA in this opportunity to collect points, win prizes, and get to know people from different cultures. All students are welcome!  

 

The Global Connections Challenge is a game where International and Canadian students have only five minutes to find out what they have in common. When the five minutes are over, each student will swap tables. Every three things you have in common earns you 1 point, the student with the most points wins a $50 Sobeys gift card!

Discover the World, Discover Yourself: A Student Panel Discussion 

 

2:30pm-4:00pm 

Sir James Dunn Hall Dawn Russell Student Lounge 

 

This session is designed for students interested in participating in an international experience during their time at STU. There are many ways to experience another culture, and this student panel will help you learn more about the different ways to have one of these meaningful experiences, by hearing from actual STU students who have gone on trips abroad.

Travel the world right here on campus—through food! Attend this can’t miss event to try foods from the home countries of our very own international students!
