Call for Submissions: UNB Arts Matters Undergraduate Conference

Vines on a brick building

The Arts Matters academic conference provides undergraduate students from across Canada with an opportunity to come to the University of New Brunswick and showcase their critical thinking, research, and creative work before an audience of their colleagues and peers. Arts Matters is an excellent opportunity to share your learning and research while you hone your presentation skills.

This year’s conference will focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).

Arts Matters is an interdisciplinary academic conference that also encourages the showcasing of creativework (visual art, creative writing, multimedia projects, etc.) We encourage submissions from a wide range ofdisciplines.

Creative work can be an empowering tool to facilitate critical dialogue around feminism, anti-racism, 2SLGBTQAI+ rights, and environmental activism. This year's conference will explore how art inspires and promotes social change and justice. We're hoping to highlight queer folks, people with disabilities and BIPOC’s work through a series of workshops before the conference and events such as panel discussions, keynote speakers, live performances and an open art exhibition April 1-3, 2022.

Accepted presenters will be invited to give a 12–15-minute presentation during one of the conference panels from April 1-3, 2022.

*If you plan to present a creative project with a visual component (e.g., visual art project, digital art, etc.), please include images of your work with your project description.*
