Submissions Being Accepted for Prizes in Creative Writing

The Department of English Language and Literature is accepting submissions for the annual Prizes in Creative Writing. 

 

Richards Prize in Prose

Submissions of short fiction, novel excerpt, or creative non-fiction up to 2,000 words.
Prize: $500

 

David Velensky Prize in Creative Writing

Submissions in all genres invited—maximum of five pages, double spaced.
Prize: $500

 

Robert Clayton Casto Prize in Poetry

Submissions of poetry—up to three poems—for a maximum of five pages.
Prize: $500

Research Essay Prize

Submissions of research papers written for an English course in any area of specialization.
Prize: $500

 

Please do not put any form of identification on the submitted pages, but include a cover page with your name, contact information, and title of the works submitted.

Submission deadline is noon on Monday, April 6, 2020.
