STU Public Lecture: Credibility in the Hockey Canada Sexual Assault Trial

7:00 PM
BMH 101
In July 2025, an Ontario trial judge acquitted five high-profile hockey players of sexual assault after rejecting the complainant's evidence and concluding there was "actual consent." This lecture by Dr. Karla O'Regan will examine the factors that influenced the judge's credibility assessment and the case's implications for the meaning of consent and sexual violence reporting rates.
Please note: the discussion will include explicit descriptions of the alleged offence and language which some may find disturbing.
