Biography
For the first part of my 28-year research career, I worked in Ireland and the European Union. I returned to Canada in 2004 and retired in 2017 from the National Research Council of Canada where I was a senior researcher and vice chair of the national research ethics board. I joined the faculty of the University of New Brunswick as an adjunct professor in 2004 and joined the St. Thomas University faculty in 2021.
Over the years, I have supervised and taught research skills to dozens of graduate students and worked with many community partners across Canada, Ireland and the EU. Together we have produced more than 50 peer-reviewed publications on topics ranging from social media and community development to First Nation community perspectives on telehealth.
As an activist and popular interest writer, my primary interests are environmental, feminist, labour and political issues.
