Research
Dr. Secord’s research focuses on the historical political economy of New Brunswick from the perspective of ecological economics. His past publications have included work on the environmental and social costs of electricity exports, the media’s coverage of nuclear power, and the history of the political economy of hydroelectric dams on the Saint John River. These are components of his on-going research on the history of NB Power.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Secord’s research interests include applied institutional and ecological economics as they contribute to explanations of the relationships between nature, state and society in the Maritime region of Canada.
